[Guide] How to Set Contacts & Manage Calls via Policy?

Modified on Mon, 2 Sep at 2:52 PM

Managing calls and contacts is integral to maintaining mobile communication's security, compliance, and efficiency. It provides the necessary tools to safeguard sensitive information and ensure that mobile devices are used in accordance with organizational policies and industry regulations.

To find the Calls option, please follow the steps below:

1. Login Admin Console>Switch to Policy&Kiosk tab>Click Policy & Kiosk Config Files>Create a new config file or edit one of the existing config file

create or open a config file

2. Click Restrictions>Choose Calls

There are three main functions under Calls:

1. SIM Card Binding Settings: Enable this setting will disable the calling function when the ICCID you assign to the device does not match the SIM card ICCID. The ICCID can only be assigned to individual devices after applying the configuration file.

2. Allowed Numbers: You can set what number can be called in or out in the policy-applied devices. Incoming Calls and Outgoing Calls can be synced or different depending on your requirements.

3. Contacts: This function can let you update the contacts to the devices in bulk once the policy is applied.

In this function, there are a few things you need to know:

1. Sometimes the ICCID written on the SIM card is not matched to the ICCID the system retrieved. Please refer to the ICCID of the SIM shown on the Admin Console after the device is enrolled.

2. Any number that has any trivial differences will be considered a different number, but we support them all. For example, you can insert a number with "+" and regional code, or with regional code only or with local phone number format, and you can initiate the phone call to the same number regardless, but you will see three numbers on the list.

3. Allowed Numbers and Contacts do not share contact lists. You have to upload twice if you want the numbers to be allowed and also shown on the Contact of the devices.
