[Guide] How to Install Credentials on Devices via Policy?

Modified on Thu, 14 Nov at 5:14 PM

Installing credentials on Android devices enables secure access to networks, applications, and services, enhancing overall data protection. Installing credentials via Policy streamlines authentication processes, simplifies user access, and mitigates the risk of unauthorized access.

To set up and install credentials on devices via Policy, please follow the instructions below:

1. Login Admin Console > Switch to Policy&Kiosk > Create or choose a Policy Config

create or open a config file.png

2. Choose General settings> Switch to Credential settings > Click Add credential to upload a new one or click the drop-down list to choose an uploaded one

where to upload or select credentials in a config.png

3. When uploading a credential, you can name the credential.

Supported file formats: .p12, .pfx, .cer, .pem, .crt, and .der.

4. After you complete other policy settings, the credential will be installed once you apply the policy config to your devices.

You can also upload or manage your credentials via the Credential Library which is under the Policy & Kiosk tab.

After you apply the Policy config file to your device, there are a couple of places for you to check whether the credential is installed:

1. Check the application history of the specific config file. If it shows Applied successfully, the credential has been installed.

2. You can also check the system notification on the device.

3. If the notification is missing, please find Settings > Security > Encryption & credentials > Trusted credentials > User. The credentials you applied will be there.

If you see any errors on the application history page or the credential is missing on the Trusted credentials page, please check whether you have obtained sufficient permission for Biz Daemon. If you have any questions, please contact us for further support.
