[Guide] How to Enable Google Factory Reset Protection via Policy?

Modified on Fri, 30 Aug at 4:32 PM

Google Factory Reset Protection (FRP) is a security feature on Android devices that prevents unauthorized access after a factory reset. It requires the original Google account credentials to activate the device to ensure that even if the device is reset and all data erased, it remains locked to unauthorized users.

To enable the FRP for your devices, please follow the steps below:

1. Login Admin Console > Switch to Policy&Kiosk > Create or choose a Policy Config

create or open a config file.png

2. Select Restrictions > Find Safety > Choose to enable or Disable FRP

3. Add at least a Google account to enable the FRP.

4. If you don't have the Google Account ID, please click the link > Choose API > Click Try it > Click Execute.

5. After you complete the Google Account login process, you will find a 21 digits Google Account ID in the result section. Copy it and paste to the Admin Console.

6. Save the change of the config file and apply it to your devices.

For your information, the FRP policy can be removed if you try to factory reset the device from the Admin Console for your convenience. Otherwise, you will have to insert the designated Google Account to unlock the device after the factory reset.
