Web Application is a lightweight web-based solution that offers an app-like experience, featuring their own app icon and the capability to open in full screen. To use Web application, your device must install AirDroid Browser, which is implemented for enhancing compatibility with various websites. It also allows you to access your website on the Website Allowlist in Kiosk. For more details, please refer to this article.
Note: If your config file with Kiosk applied any AirDroid Browser-related features, or you use the Web Apps for the first time, AirDroid Browser should be automatically installed on your devices. It will take several minutes to complete the installation of AirDroid Browser.
If it does not install automatically, please contact us for further assistance. In case you would like to install AirDroid Browser manually for other usages, please refer to the instructions.
Requirements
- Devices that are installed Biz Daemon version 1.4.4.0 or higher.
- Devices that are running Android 6 or higher
- Devices that enrolled with Android Enterprise Enrollment and Zero Touch Enrollment are currently not supported.
Please refer to the instructions below to create a Web App.
1. Go to Admin Console > Apps > App Library. Find and tap "+Add App", then choose "Android" > "Web Apps" and tap "Next" to proceed.
2. Before publishing, you'll have to configure the following details:
- Name: Enter the display name for the Web App
- URL: Enter the URL where the App icon leads to when tapping.
- Display mode: Determine how the website is displayed from Fullscreen, Minimal and Standard modes.
- Icon: The Web Application's icon to be displayed on the managed devices.
3. After configuration, you can release the Web application on the Test Release and Formal Release.
Once released successfully, a Web App Library will be generated on your device, where you can find the newly created web app.
You can check the status in the Release History section and make sure the web app was released properly.
To install the AirDroid Browser manually, please follow the steps below:
1. Open "Biz Daemon" on the Device > Tap AMS permission.
Find "Airdroid Browser" under AMS permission > Tap the link to download.
Once the browser is installed, we can proceed to create a Web App in the Admin Console.
