[Intro] What Options are Included in Each Tab of Google Chrome Configuration?

Modified on Fri, 30 Aug at 2:08 PM

A managed Google Chrome has plenty of options for you to configure to the degree that it will most align with your business operations, especially from the privacy and security aspects.

Before you go through all the configurations on the page, please note that some of those configurations may affect the devices' overall security or privacy, and thus consulting with your IT manager before adjusting those settings is suggested.

We will briefly introduce all the tabs on the Google Chrome Configuration.

  • Basic: In this tab, you can set some common options for your Chrome, such as website allowlist or blocklist for Chrome on your devices. Most of the options are quite common, just like you are using the Kiosk Browser.

  • Network: This tab is for you to set how Chrome connects to the internet, including the negotiation options, authentication options, etc. Please note that some of the options require caution and full knowledge to set up correctly.

  • Security: This tab contains all the detailed options for network security, including DNS, SSL, cookies, etc. Adjusting the settings on this page requires full knowledge of the browser network, so please consult with your IT manager before you adjust the settings in this tab.

  • Search: You can customize the details of the Chrome search-related functions on the devices, including provider, method, suggestion, etc.

  • URL Filtering: On this tab, you can input all kinds of URLs to permit or inhibit some functions on these URLs, such as the usage of cookies, Javascript, etc. You can also manage the bookmarks of Chrome on this tab.
